The paint job on this car is a big disappointment compared to years past. The base color is uneven in several places and is thicker around the edges, which is especially noticeable on the hood. Also, the numbers are a very flat yellow and nowhere close to the vibrant yellow on the actual car. The part of the 4 as painted on the new style roof flap is noticeably bigger than the rest of the number on the roof. It's as if the flap was painted to fit in with a larger number because it doesn't come close to fitting in with the rest of the roof number. As it came out of the box, there are several areas where the paint is chipped, too, such as on the roof rails and lower edge of the front valance. There is at least one fairly large blemish on the hood and the black paint is worn from the corners of the rear spoiler, too. It's as if the car had been handled a lot before being put in the box. As for the car itself, though I realize these models were designed as the rules for actual cars were still being finalized, it doesn't look as much like the real thing as I'd hoped. The front sits pretty high and appears to be fairly short from the windshield to the bumper compared to what I see on the track each week. The whole car, from front to back seems short & squat and just doesn't look quite right. Maybe that will improve with next year's models. Overall, I'd have to say this is car a big downturn in the quality we've become accustomed to from Action and I'd think twice if I wanted to spend the money for another one in the future...
