Wendell Scott is the only African-American driver to have ever won a NASCAR race. On December 1, 1963 at Speedway Park in Jacksonville, Fla., Scott edged Buck Baker for the win in a historic finish that is still celebrated today. Scott won 128 races on various circuits before moving to the NASCAR premier series.
